Custom software development · Udupi & Mangaluru
Billing, stock, approvals, job work, reports — we build the system your team actually needs, in stages you can use, and we stay on after it goes live. A studio in Udupi you can visit.
In short
Custom software is a system built for one business’s own way of working — its approvals, pricing rules and reports — instead of a ready-made product the team has to bend around. Whirl Designs builds it in Udupi for businesses across coastal Karnataka, one working part at a time, and hands over the code and data so the business owns all of it.
Start here
Most businesses do not need fully custom software. Before anything is built, we tell you which of these three fits your work.
Best for: Work every business does the same way
Best for: One gap between tools you already use
Best for: Work that sets your business apart
If a ready-made product covers most of what you need, we will say so — and help you set it up instead.
Our work
Jayalaxmi Jewellers
Retail jewellery · Karkala
Jayalaxmi Jewellers has traded gold in Karkala since 1990. Beyond the brand website, the shop needed one system for the counter: billing, savings schemes that customers pay into over months, old-gold exchange, and stock of every piece.
We built it as a separate retail ERP. Each member of staff sees only the actions their role allows, and customers get their receipts and scheme reminders on WhatsApp, sent by the system itself.

Nityanand Agro
Agriculture & retail · Karnataka
A public catalogue for an agri-products business, plus the internal CRM its staff run the day on — installed on their phones as an app, working over patchy rural signal.
What you get
You get all six in writing before work starts, so nothing turns up later as a surprise.
How it runs
Your team uses working parts of the system from the first month — never a big reveal at the end.
We watch how the work really happens — at the counter, in the office, on the road — and note where time is lost.
Every screen, role, rule and report is written down, with the order we will build them in. You approve it before any code is written.
We build the most useful part first and your staff start using it, so problems show up early, while they are easy to fix.
Each new part goes live when it is ready and tested, while the rest of the business keeps running.
Fixes, changes and new parts come from the same team, on the same phone number.

Questions
A first working part is usually ready in four to eight weeks. A full system — billing, stock, approvals and reports together — usually takes three to six months, built in stages so your team is using it long before the last part is done.
Yes. The source code, the database and the server account are yours. You can keep us for support or move the whole thing to another developer, and we hand over documentation either way.
Usually, yes. We connect billing and stock to your accounting so entries move across on their own instead of being typed twice. We check what your accounting software allows before we promise a connection.
Yes. We build it to run in the browser, so it works on the office computer and on staff phones, and it can be installed on the phone’s home screen like an app.
Only when your work is different from the standard. If a ready-made product covers most of what you do, it is the better choice and we will say so. Custom software earns its place when your pricing, process or trade is what sets you apart.
You call the team that built it. We fix faults, apply updates and keep backups running, and small changes are handled the same way.
